Which? Trusted Trader — independently vetted & approvedCold radiators, noisy boiler, black system water? A professional twin-magnet powerflush strips years of sludge out of your heating system and restores it to full power.
Based in Brentford TW8 — fast response across West London.

Over the years, central heating water breeds magnetite — black iron sludge that settles in radiators, clogs pipework and grinds away at your boiler's pump and heat exchanger. The filter in the photo came out of a system that had never been flushed. A powerflush circulates cleaning chemicals through the system at high velocity, dislodging that sludge and removing it for good.
We use the Norstrom ProFlush twin-magnet machine — professional kit with two 12,000-gauss magnets that capture metallic sludge as the water circulates, radiator by radiator. We check the system with thermal imaging before and after, finish with corrosion inhibitor, and leave your magnetic filter clean.

Radiators cold at the bottom, cold spots, a boiler that's noisy or slow to warm the house, black water when you bleed a rad, or a pump that keeps failing — these are the classic symptoms of sludge (magnetite) building up inside the system. Left alone it starves the boiler and shortens its life.
We use a professional flushing machine with a strong magnetic filter, working through the system rad by rad with the right cleaning chemicals to break down and flush out the sludge and scale. We finish by dosing the system with fresh inhibitor — and we'll recommend a permanent magnetic filter so it stays clean.
Not every system needs a full powerflush. A lighter chemical flush suits milder cases; a magnetic filter is cheap insurance on any system; a full powerflush is for heavily sludged setups. We assess honestly and recommend the right level rather than the most expensive one.
Gas leak, burst pipe or no heating? We're available around the clock.
A powerflush is a deep clean of your central heating system. A professional machine circulates cleaning chemicals at high velocity to dislodge rust and sludge, which is then captured by powerful magnets and flushed out, restoring circulation and heat output.
Tell-tale signs include radiators that are cold at the bottom, black or dirty water when bleeding, frequent boiler noise or kettling, and a system that takes a long time to warm up.
Most homes are completed in a single day. Larger systems with severe sludge can take longer — we confirm the timescale before starting.
Usually, yes. A sludged system forces your boiler to work harder for the same warmth. Restoring proper circulation improves efficiency and protects the boiler from expensive damage.
We assess every system first. In rare cases with very old or fragile pipework we may recommend an alternative approach — you'll always get an honest recommendation before any work starts.
Most take between four and eight hours depending on the size of the system and how much sludge there is. We do it in a single visit.
If they're cold at the bottom from sludge, usually yes. If it's trapped air or balancing, that's a quicker fix — we'll diagnose properly first.
